Hotel PERLA II - III - IV

Still hidden behind a four storied clock of flats (the only access to the parcel until now), the hotel appears as a softly modern discourse, discreetly integrated in the area, yet conveying to the environment its lacking preciousness.

This is a very peculiar intervention on the available space of a larger parcel which was to be entirely utilized for a further setting up adequate to this private chic hotel. Therefore, this project is only the first step of a more complex ongoing intervention, thus establishing the rules for the work to come.

The building synthesizes in an ostentationless manner the temperaments and idiosyncrasies of the authors, giving a sensitive and refined response to a problematic site. Hence, the low scale of the intervention is a reply to the existing neighborhood, carried out through the pavilional composition, a variation on master spaces-servant spaces theme.

Otherwise, the design carefully observed their programmatic approach. The tectonic level is discreetly reshaped, thus creating a lower garden level which protects and hides the entrance. The development of the main building is a new sophisticated rhythmic exercise meant to disguise in a certain measure the standard image of a hotel, while the floating theme of the roof is supposed to achieve a serene unifying covering of the whole.
